MACARONS!!! & Bars!
Macarons....Macarons...Macarons ($18/doz this week; $2 ea for orders under a dozen). These little delights are in a league all their own; part sinful, part kid giddiness. They have stolen my baking heart! Bite-size. Colorful. Flavorful. A perfect match and blending of cookie and filling. They are simply amazing. They are approximately 2" diameter each and can also be frozen; that's assuming you can hide them well enough that they don't disappear first. I highly recommend you try some today! The cookie is an almond meringue (delicate eggshell-like crust and chewy center...trust me, it's amazing) and of course, it comes in any color of the rainbow you want! The fillings, well, below you see chocolate ganache...smooth, creamy, intense chocolate. But there's also raspberry buttercream, lighter in the mouth with a hint of fruitiness. You really can't go wrong. Order a dozen...or two. Or maybe three. Okay, four, just four dozen. That should be enough. Well, enough for the next 2 days. No, really, you owe it yourself to get a dozen of these little bits of sunshine!
The Southern Cheesecake Bar ($12/doz) features a delicious pecan sugar crust with a creamy cheesecake filling. Dont know about you, but I'm always doomed if it involves pecans! And these are no exception. Top them with garnishment of your choice; they make a beautiful presentation and taste delicious! Each bar is approx 3"x1.5", they can be frozen.
The second bar is the Lemon Ice Box bar ($12/doz)...ya'll. If there were a dessert that summed up summer, this would be it. A golden graham crust is topped with a smooth, cool, creamy, tart lemon filling. Add a dallop (I love that word) of whipped cream and you've got a refreshing, summer delight. It's the perfect way to end a summer meal. Each bar is approx 3"x1.5" and can be frozen.
