Old McDonald E-I-E-I-Party!

I have a pretty cool little announcement coming up and it relates to this whole post. BUT, in the meatime, I want to share a really fun thing to think about next time you, or someone you know, are hosting a first birthday party. Alot of parents are arranging for smash cake photo sessions for their precious, adorable new ones turning that magical 1. Why not order and coordinate that smash cake with the 1st birthday theme?

I got to plan a little shindig for my own adorable Baby Boy who turned 1 earlier this month. He has been such a fun, happy, easy kid! A while back, I had decided on an Old McDonald theme and actually found a few things on super cheap clearance that helped shape the party.

I also scheduled a smash cake session for him with a friend of mine. I knew his cake should coordinate with his party. So, here is the run-down of cakes and cupcakes I ended up creating for his party.

First, his smash cake: (2--5" in round cakes with traditional vanilla bean buttercream and gumpaste accents)


For his party: (cake details--the cupcakes, the square cake and the cake under the barn facade are all banana cake and all are frosted with cream cheese frosting)
